Blue Badge bays are provided in London Gatwick’s Long Stay and Short Stay car parks at both the North and South Terminal. Parking for those with disabilities at London Gatwick is easy, but there are some key things to remember. Read on to make sure you know what to do before you arrive.
If you’re likely to need your Blue Badge whilst travelling, taking it with you isn’t a problem.
Park up as normal and head to the customer service office. They will take your details and hand you a voucher to display in your windscreen whilst you’re away.
London Gatwick offers free assistance for disabled passengers who require help getting to and from the terminals.
There are help points located in the car parks, as well as outside the terminals, or you can call ahead on 0330 313 9268 to let us know what help you need.
We also recommend our Valet Parking service for those with reduced mobility. Here, you can leave your car with us to park on your behalf, allowing you to head straight into the terminal.
If you’ve parked in the Long Stay car park and are travelling with someone with reduced mobility, you can pick up your car and then park in the Short Stay car park for free to pick up your fellow passenger.
Head to the customer service office, by the exit of the Long Stay car park, and they’ll grant you up to an hour of free parking.
If you are using Valet Parking and you would like your vehicle to be parked in a blue badge bay upon your return to London Gatwick, present your blue badge to the staff who are checking your vehicle in.
They will make a record of your request and your vehicle will be parked in a blue badge bay or as close to the Valet office as possible on your return.
For same-level access to the terminal, Blue Badge holders can take advantage of discounted rates on Premium Parking in the South Terminal when parking for under four hours.
When you arrive, press the ‘Assistance’ button at the entry barriers. When you leave, simply pay at the customer service office to benefit from the lower rate.
If parking for longer than four hours, normal parking charges will apply. In the North Terminal, the Blue Badge spaces are located on the terminal level so this does not apply.
